Carl Froch Exclusive Interview: Tyson Fury Is An Attention Seeker, He’s A Kn*bhead

In an exclusive interview with CoinPoker, ambassador Carl Froch launched an attack on Tyson Fury after ‘The Gypsy King’ announced yet another comeback. ‘The Cobra’ also believes boxing should introduce a VAR type system to aid the judges when scoring the points at ringside.

Uncategorized

Q: How’s things going so far for you in 2026, Carl?

A: Yeah, good. Quite early still. We’re mid-January. Not much going on out there. I’m looking forward to going to New York next week for the Teofimo Lopez fight. He’s a big fan of The Cobra. He’s fighting Shakur Stevenson, so that’ll be a good fight, I’m looking forward to it. But other than that, there’s not a great deal on the horizon.

Q: You mentioned the big fight in New York next week, how do you see it going?

A: It’s a close one, isn’t it? It’s tough to call. I’m a massive fan of Teofimo Lopez, maybe because he’s a Cobra fan as well. I saw him in London and he wanted a picture. He was telling me he watches Froch on Fighting. He went back to his taxi to get his Ring Magazine belt and he wanted to have that in the picture with me. He’s a cool guy. I think stylistically, he’s very skillful, he’s got flair. He is proven at that level and he’s been tested. He’s had some very close and tough fights but he’s also had some great wins as well. So I would say Shakur Stevenson will win for his speed and his skillset and the fact that he’s unbeaten. And he has super fast hands. It’s a tough task for Teofimo Lopez. But don’t write Lopez off because he’s so naturally talented. It’s a good fight, 50/50. And I’m gonna pick Teo, and that’s with my heart, not my head. So do you think it’ll go all the way? Probably, yeah. I can’t see either of these guys getting stopped.

Q: Tyson Fury is back out of retirement, again. It looks like Arslanbeck Makhmudov is one of his top targets. Has he got what it takes to take on Fury, after beating Dave Allen by decision?

A: Yeah he beat Dave Allen in his last fight, didn’t he? He lost to Agit Kabayel though before that, didn’t he? Well a prime Tyson Fury, peak Tyson Fury, it’s not a big fight is it against Makhmudov? It’s not really that interesting, but it’s a comeback fight. But why is he coming back? He’s made £100million. He’s told us four or five times that he’s retiring. Now he’s coming back. I’m bored of it. I’m not interested. But if it suits Tyson Fury and it’s good for him and it’s good for his mental health and it’s something he wants to do, then fair play, I’m behind him and I’ll back him and I’ll watch him fight. But really, I don’t think he should be fighting. He’s 37 and he’s lost his last three fights. I know he beat Francis Ngannou, but he didn’t beat him really, did he? He just got the decision. And then he lost twice to Oleksandr Uysk. And I think that probably sits bad with him. I think it pisses him off when he looks back , ending his career on a low there and maybe he wants to come back just to finish on a high and he’ll have one eye on the AJ fight as well. Because that’s still a big fight. As much as I’m not interested in that fight. I’m not interested in seeing AJ vs Tyson Fury. I was five, six years ago, but not now. And whether or not AJ comes back remains to be seen. But I’m certainly not interested in seeing Tyson Fury come out of retirement.

Q: So do you think AJ will fight again after everything that happened in Nigeria?

A: Well, I’ve seen clips of him back in the gym, so that’s positive. And he is hitting the bag, but he’s another guy that does not need to fight again either. We’re prize fighters, because we want to earn money and set ourselves up for our future and get out when we’ve still got our health intact. And fortunately for Anthony Joshua, he’s still got his health. He’s still in good shape. He’s been knocked out a couple times. He’s had a couple of losses. He’s had a great career. He has done wonderful things for professional boxing in terms of getting it to the forefront and making all the press and all the headlines and bringing attention to the sport and filling stadiums back-to-back. It’s fantastic. But I don’t think he’s got much more left to give in the sport. And after the tragedy that happened recently, I don’t think he’s going to have the mindset and the drive and the desire to actually go through a training camp and get back in the ring. But each individual’s different, aren’t they? So I’m not gonna talk for him, but I’d probably like to see him just bow out of boxing now and do something else.

Q: With Tyson Fury back, who do you think he should fight if he is going to fight this year?

A: Well, he’s not gonna jump in there with Kabayel is he? He’s not going to jump in there with Moses Itauma. Joseph Parker could be a bit of an interesting fight, but we’ve been there, seen it and done it with Parker, haven’t we? So it’s a difficult one because I don’t think he’s going to risk jumping in with Moses Itauma. I mean, you can give Moses a chance, but you’ve got Fabio Wardley, who’s very interesting because Fabio can punch. He’s full of desire and that performance against Parker was brilliant. He seems to nick a decision or get the win when you think he’s not going to get it. So Fabio Wardley, he is flying now. He’s mentally on the crest of a wave and really confident with whoever he gets in with. I mean, he is looking at the Usyk fight, which I think is way too much for him. Usyk has got far too much natural ability, talent and experience for somebody like Fabio Wardley. But even then, you’re not going to put your house on it. Because it is risky, isn’t it? Especially with Usyk getting older and Fabio on the crest of that wave. But yeah, I don’t think Tyson Fury should really risk anybody who he’s going to get beat by. Maybe he just needs to get it out of his system. Fight Makhmudov, go out on a high then retire for good.

Q: Usyk says there’s only one way they have a third fight and that’s if it’s for the undisputed status again, what do you make of that?

A: Well, he’s saying that Tyson’s got to go out there and win a title. And that’s not going to happen, is it? I don’t wanna be horrible because I like Tyson and mentally, I think he can be a little bit fragile with his mental health, but it’s boring now. He’s come out of retirement again and the amount of times he’s said it, nobody believes him. When I announced my retirement, I retired. I’ve been retired for 11, 12 years. Why bother retiring, nobody’s bothered. It’s just attention seeking all the time. I’m giving him stick now and I don’t want to give him stick, but he is f*cking attention seeking and that’s what he does. And when he is out of the limelight, he then sticks his face back on Instagram, starts talking sh*t about Return of the Mac. And I just switch it off if I’m honest.

Q: There’s also talks of Usyk potentially fighting Deontay Wilder, do you think Wilder should take that fight?

A: It’s another fight that I think is done. Deontay Wilder got splattered by Zhilei Zhang and then he got done by Joe Parker, didn’t he? We see him in the ring, swinging away and his shots have had no effect. They say the last thing that goes is your power and his power is definitely gone. That was the only reason he did what he did against Fury in those two fights. So I think he’s probably lost four of his last six fights and two with Fury and then Zhang and Parker. What has he got left to give now? Usyk to be fighting him for me is wrong. People will say that Wilder is a dangerous puncher and he might clip Usyk, but Usyk doesn’t get clipped. We saw that over 24 rounds against AJ and then the same against Fury. Tyson Fury is one of the best to do it. AJ was world level, but not elite world level. But Usyk outclassed them both, so he is not going to jump in there with Deontay Wilder, who’s a shadow of his former self and give us any kind of entertaining rounds. It’s gonna be a whitewash, pointless fight. Don’t want to see it, but if Usyk wants it, he can do what he wants can’t he? If you know boxing, you know that Deontay Wilder should be sitting on the sofa with his legs up.

Q: Why do you think Wilder wants to keep going again?

A: Pride, maybe a bit of money. And he is finishing on losses. And it doesn’t sit well with some fighters, finishing on losses. It’s a changing of the guard now, we’ve got new and a young fresh breed of fighters coming through. And the older ones are just fading away. And I don’t like to see fighters fade away. I like to see them go out with a bang and retire. But unfortunately they get lured in by the money.

Q: Do you think it’s fair on the other fighters that Queensberry’s Magnificent 7 card was postponed because of Moses Itauma’s injury?

A: It’s not ideal, but they’re dovetailing, aren’t they on the back of the fact that Itauma was fighting and if he’s the top fight and the main event then unfortunately that’s part of the business. Frank Warren has got all of the fighters now hasn’t he? Eddie Hearn is doing stuff in America. Well he might not be now because you’ve got Dana White who is Turki’s new right hand man. Eddie is busy though, he’s a busy boy. He’s got the big fight next weekend in New York, promoting that one for Turki.

Q: Turki has now taken the darts to Saudi Arabia along with the boxing. Did you catch the action over Christmas?

A: I used to live close to Alexandra Palace. I was an 11 minute, 46 seconds run away to be precise. Because I did it every day and I used to do my clock and if I was under 12 minutes, I knew I was fit. I’ve got a house in North London in Hornsey and I used to run up to the Palace and I ended up fighting at the Palace. And I’m a massive darts fan. I’ve been back there a couple of times. I remember I went to meet Peter Wright there, it was brilliant. Van Gerwen is a big past his best now isn’t he. And Gerwyn Price, his head just ended up going with the crowd. But he’s a good addition to the darts. But Littler is just f*cking class isn’t he. The 180s, the 170 finish, the 50% on doubles. He just knows what he has to do every time and he’s amazing.

Q: Dalton Smith joining the ranks of British champions, what did you make of his performance?

A: His performance was outstanding against a fighter who was tough, solid, strong, gets fitter as he goes through the rounds and Dalton Smith took him on and beat him at his own game.

He had a couple of rounds of just having a look and he started catching him and not a lot of people have caught Matias. For Dalton Smith to go in there and fight away from home in Brooklyn, New York for his first world title and perform the way he performed.

I mean, Eddie Hearn said it best, It was, it was one of the best performances in recent years, it was, I agree. I think he’s got a great career out of him, he’s only 28 years old.. He has come through the grassroots, he was at Team GB, boxing for England. Rob McCracken did a lot of work with him and I know his dad coached and trained him, but he’s done the British Commonwealth, the European, and now he’s fought for a world title and won. He’s unbeaten and he’s got probably a good five year window now where he can really maximise it. He’s gotta be a little bit more outspoken, I’ll have a word of him, tell him to start giving some stick out, get a little bit controversial, not for the sake of it, but to get that bit between your teeth and start firing some bullets at people, giving some shit out. I reckon he can be big, but he does his talking in the ring. He’ll be out in New York next week for the TeofimoLopez and Shakur Stevenson fight, I’ll probably have a chat with him after that, but that’s a great fight. He should fight the winner of that or fight the loser of that. But then why risk your WBC? He wants to be fighting for another title.

Q: So do you think they could do a unification with Adam Azim?

It needs building that, Adam Azim’s got to go and get a title and that’ll build it into a big fight. It’s good that they’re talking about it now, but they’re being too friendly. Adam Azim should give him a bit of stick, pick up some weaknesses and Dalton Smith should fire back, get stuck into him and then in a couple of years, if Adam Azim wins a title, that will be a domestic ‘dustup’. Could be at Wembley Stadium, do 70 odd thousand, struggle to do 80. There were quoting 90 odd thousand for one of AJ’s fights, I was looking around at the top of that stadium and I was thinking all the seats were empty, I was counting them.

Q: I want a bit of a prediction now for 2026 after Dalton Smith just won the title. Who do you think will be the next British fighter to win the world title?

A: I’d like to see Fabio Wardley because I’m sticking with the heavyweights here, Fabio Wardley and Moses Itauma, they’re kind of on that fringe and that level to win something big. Connor Benn’s a great shout. The thing is for me is he has had two fights with Chris Eubank Jr and they’ve not done much for him. Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia, he could fight the winner of that but I’d just like to see him in another one or two fights against fringe level world titles before chucking him in, but maybe he’ll go in there and he’ll beat a Mario Barrios or beat a Ryan Garcia, he could do. But if I was managing him, I’d just have one or two more. He’s had these two fights with Eubank Jr and it is not a massive win. It’s a good win for Legacy, good win on paper, Eubank Jr is finished, that rematch was awful. And Connor Benn lost the first one and it was a great performance and I rate Connor Benn, he’s fit, he’s strong, he’s got the right mindset, he loves the sport and he’s mean and tenacious and he’s got that fire in his belly. But I just don’t wanna see him jump in with Ryan Garcia and get clipped and then sort of destroy everything that’s been built. I’d rather see him in a couple of fights and he’s young, so he’s got time. But maybe jump in there with the winner, Garcia or Barrios, win that title and then maybe he is good enough. Ben Whittaker as well, new signing now for Eddie Hearn, was to Ben Shalom’s disgrace. But Ben Whittaker’s a fantastic talent and one of the next ones that’s coming through. But we need to see him in with somebody, because we saw him in with Cameron and he struggled. He got the rematch, got the win, great performance, but that’s British level. You wanna see him step up to somebody who’s actually shown what is proven at world level. Someone who’s not quite at world level or someone who’s been at world level and passed the best. This is where matchmaking is so important. Ben Whittaker with his ability and his fitness but I don’t know if he lacks power at light heavyweight, but I think he’s developing that, but he is another really exciting prospect and I’d like to see him in a world title fight. And he’s massively entertaining, showboating, I love all that. Like Prince Naseem Hamed, he talks the talk, looks the part and if he becomes a world champion, he could be the next big star.

Q: You interviewed Naseem Hamed recently, how was that last week?

A: Yeah it was so good, I just love Naseem’s energy and he’s just always smiling and he is always laughing and he has the crack and the interview weren’t long enough and he was on a busy schedule. I was there to watch the film, promote the film for him. Naseem in that film was great. There’s obviously the whole debate around whether Brendan Ingle was out of order saying to a 10-year-old kid that we’re doing a deal at 25% or whatever it was, or was Naseem inflating that a little bit to justify why he left him? It’s hard to say, I don’t wanna give Naseem any stick, Certainly not gonna give the late great Brendan Ingle any stick because he’s not here to defend himself. But the whole thing I think could have been kept just low key. I think Dominic Ingle said it perfectly because he said, “I stay out of it. The problem was with Naseem and my dad. And I just stayed out of it and let them get on with it.” He obviously loves his dad, he had a great relationship with his dad, Dominic, of course and John. Dominic Ingle also has an amicable relationship with Naseem Hamed. And they don’t talk about it, they don’t mention it, they don’t flick any shit around. But obviously the film was big with Pierce Brosnan doing it. It was a great film, I loved it. Obviously they cut out a lot of stuff, but they’re making a film, not a Netflix series. He could have made the Netflix series about his career but yeah, that’s the only, that’s the only bit that leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. The fact that people are gonna look at that and either make a decision that Brendan Ingles was out of order. Which, in my opinion I don’t think he was, or, Naseem Hameds out of order because he didn’t stay with him because he didn’t wanna pay him. I don’t think Naseem was out of order because it wasn’t working for him, he wasn’t happy. If you’re not happy with your trainer, you’ve gotta move on and do the best for yourself. We’ll never know the truth, there’s always three versions to the story. There’ll be Brendan’s version, Naseem’s version and then there’ll be the truth. So between their versions of events and what happened somewhere in the middle will be the truth. But the bottom line is Brendan trained him and managed him and he wants to be paid.

Naseem Hamed was doing the fighting and he wanted the lion’s share and they did what they did, they achieved great things. But as soon as he parted the company with Brendan Ingle, he went and got absolutely outclassed by Marco Antonio Barrera, he got battered, he wasn’t even in the fight and you could say well, if you had Brandon Ingle in his corner, he’d be more disciplined because he didn’t train properly for the fight, I don’t think he did what he needed to do, he was pissing around with his gloves beforehand, got in there nonchalant and it came back to bite him, 28 years old and retired. I think Naseem Hamed could have been one of the greatest ever. A waste of a talent, he made his money on what he did, but I think he could have been one of the greatest of all time. All he needed to do was tidy his defense a little bit when he stepped up and his defense was all about reflexes and movement, but he never just got one glove up and just timed it a little bit differently the way I’m not telling him how to fight because he had a one-off unique style, they call it the Ingle style, but Naseem had his own flair. But if Naseem could have just tidied it up a little bit, which he would’ve done if he’d have stayed with Brendan, I think Naseem could’ve been one of the best. I think he beats Barrera, Barrera is too basic, he would never beat Barrera easily, but I think Naseem punched too hard for him and I know he had so much more. He retired at 28 and I was world champion at 30 and I got so much better and learnt so much. I used to throw a stupid uppercut from outer range and have a low guard with my chin in the air. Then I got dropped by Jermain Taylor and decided to tidy my boxing up. And then I was able to fight world class, elite level fighters time after time and win fights that really I shouldn’t have been able to win. I won them by adjusting and then the fitness and the strength and Naseem at the end lost his desire or stopped training like he should have done. Then he got in the ring with Barrera and he wasn’t fit enough, bad attitude, no Brendan Ingle behind him and he got served up.

Q:  Do you think there’s any other fighters that you can name off the top of your head that kind of blew up too early and then kind of let themselves down towards the end of their career and maybe quit too early?

A: I think the person that didn’t get his recognition until he was inducted into all of fame was Joe Calzaghe. He never really got any major recognition for what a great fighter he was, to be honest. But you’d have to go through the Encyclopedia of British Champions and have a look through. Robin Reid who fought Calzaghe, I’m going back to when I used to watch boxing and Robin Reid was WBC Champion for a small period of time and then he fought Calzaghe and he was one of the greatest to do it at super middleweight. And it was a close fight, lost a split decision and then he never went anywhere, never did anything. Never really made any money and never really did what he could have done for his ability and his punching power and his toughness. The Olympic Bronze medalist was Robin Reid, so I’d probably say Robin Reid, unfortunately. He never got what he deserves.

Q: Have you had any interest in appearing in film or TV?

A: I helped with the film ‘Salvable’, Toby Kebbell and Shia LaBeouf. Loved it, enjoyed it. Went out to New York. Bedford, near New York. I was out there in the winter training them for the fight scenes and sort of choreographing them. Producing the fight scenes and making sure they look authentic. I was offered a part in the film and I was like, I’m not an actor. I should have probably done it, a small part getting in front of the camera, but I’m not really arsed about being in front of the camera and acting. And it’s very time consuming. It’s hard work. I’ve got three kids. I’ve got my property empire and I’ve now got my YouTube channel and I’m looking at how much time do I want to give away for what gain? If you’re gonna be an actor and you wanna get into acting, I mean, look at what Vinnie Jones did. I wouldn’t say I would’ve been the next Vinnie Jones, I’m just saying look how much work and time and effort he’s had to put into becoming that Hollywood star. Because if I do anything, I always want to be the best, I don’t wanna just stick around being an extra, or being a cameo part in a film. So I just thought, no, I’ll do my producing bit, thanks for the offer, but I’ve got no ego. Contrary to what people think, I’ve got no ego. I’m not arsed about being seen. I’m not asked about being famous. You know what I mean? So, no, I don’t wanna be an actor unless it’s a pornstar. Fancy bit of that. You know why they call me the Cobra, right?

Q: You were up in Sheffield with Rob McCracken at the start of the year, have you been back since?

A: I have to do a few bits in the gym. I’ve been up to see Rob had a little training session. Interviewed, did a little few bits. I’ve been keeping myself in shape. I’m training my brother at the minute, Big Lee, he’s interested in fighting. What’s he doing there? Well, brother Lee, the renovator, he never boxed, he boxed amateur, but he never turned pro ’cause he failed his eyesight as a kid. So he never got his license. But he’s done unlicensed fighting, 13-0, 12 knockouts. I don’t wanna give him any stick, but it was a shambles, Chase Demoor and Andrew Tate. I looked at that and thought, what the hell is going on?

Darren Till was posting Chase DeMoor’s phone number on Twitter yesterday – he wants it to fight him now and Chase DeMoor’s come out with a statement.

A: Yeah, he will wanna fight him ’cause he’ll probably bash him, Darren Till. Because he can fight a little bit, he could box a little bit and Chase DeMoore looked terrible. And Andrew Tate, I mean, I dunno what was going on with that performance. I dunno why he bothered. No, it was awful. But my brother’s on about, he said I’ll fight ’em. So I’ve been in touch with Mams Taylor, I’ve been in touch with Kalle Sauerland, I’m training Lee. To go on Misfits? Just in case we get the call. Lee fancies it. You’ll need some security there in case Till’s on the other side of the ring. Till actually thinks he’s a hardman. He doesn’t realise, if he comes within a metre of me, he’ll get a shock, put it that way. He doen’t realise. He thinks he’s hard, but not against karate. That was David Brent. ‘What, against Karate? I don’t think so.’ Never really watched it. You’ve not lived, mate, if you’ve not seen The Office. Don’t ever compare the American Office. I mean, Steve Carrell is brilliant, but he’s not Ricky. He’s not Ricky Jervais, the Brent Meister General. Should I get my guitar?

Q: Tommy Fury recently indicated that he wants a fight this year.

A: He wants paying. He wants to earn some money. Who does he wanna fight? He’s not actually said. Has he not? He wants Jake Paul doesn’t he? He’s been giving Jake Paul shit for ages and he beat Jake Paul. I think Jake knows it’s not a massive fight for him and it’s one he’ll probably lose.

Q: Tommy said it’ll be a spectacle, but he never said who the plans to fight are. So do you think it could be Jake Paul?

A: I don’t think Jake fights him. You don’t go from AJ to Tommy Fury. He’s fought him already. So I dunno who he’s gonna fight. Maybe Chase DeMoor, he’s the heavyweight Misfits champion.

Q: Do you think that Tommy Fury has a future in boxing anymore?

A: Not real boxing, not professional, licensed British boxing board of control boxing. No, I don’t think he has. He’s not good enough. You’re either good enough or you’re not, and he’s not good enough. So he’ll have a potential career in the misfits world or in the YouTube world. If the YouTube world is Andrew Tate, but other than that, no, I don’t think so. He wouldn’t do anything as a pro.

Q: What are three things you would change about the sport in 2026, if three things have to happen?

A: I’d probably like to see the scoring tidied up. Because what I don’t like is when boxing comes under scrutiny. A lot of times last year, you got decisions where you go, that’s wrong. That never happened. Katie Taylor, what a fantastic athlete, but she was in a couple of tight decisions against Amanda Serrano and people say that’s wrong, that’s a robbery. And when you see a robbery or you see a fight that’s close, but you know who’s won, and then the other guy wins it really wide. So I’d like to see the scoring tied up, but it’s a massive debate. What do you do with the scoring? Maybe you’ve got three people in a room watching it on television. Because what we see at home and what you see at rings are the two different things. So have the three people in a room – if this takes off by the way, I want some royalties. Three people in the room, watching it on television. Three judges, and then the three judges at ringside. The three judges at ringside score it. But then they go to the three in the room and they say, what do you reckon? How have you got it? And if they’re totally different, like, he thinks Red corner won, but he thinks Blue… then they can sit and look and go, right, let’s work this out. Let’s have a look at what we’re doing, who you got, what score you got for that round. Have a look and dissect it. Say, listen, we’re gonna have to wait for the decision. We’re gonna need 10 minutes. But the right person’s gonna win here. Look at the punch stats, because they’ve got the punch stats. How many punches are landed per round as well. Maybe have a secondary adjudicator that scores it, and they can communicate before the decisions are announced. And that, I think, will get rid of the ridiculously wide wrong decisions, because they’re not only wrong, sometimes they’re ridiculously wide and wrong. And you just think, well, that’s a fix, isn’t it? That’s the home fighters, that’s the promoter having a word with the… do you know what I mean? You start thinking it’s all corrupt. It’s bad for the sport. So I’d like to see that change.

Q: I’ve seen you asked Conor Benn this last week, so I’ll ask you – who do you think is the biggest kn*bhead in Boxing?

A: You love my kn*bhead question. Biggest kn*bhead in boxing. I think to call somebody a kn*bhead, you’ve got to actually have some kind of animosity in your head when you I don’t really like him. At the minute I think Tyson Fury has been a bit of a kn*bhead. But he’s been a kn*bhead for years. I think everyone knows he is a kn*bhead. So yeah, my kn*bhead at the minute is Tyson Fury. Purely for coming out of retirement when he kind of doesn’t need to. Like, stay retired, you kn*bhead. The last time I saw him was in Turkey he was a kn*bhead, because I said, come on, give me 10 minutes. He went, no, you’ve been slagging my dad off and if I talk to you, my dad’s not gonna be very happy, is he? I like, what Big John Fury? I said don’t worry, I’ve got Usyk next anyway. He was p*ssed off. But anyway, he deserved a kn*bhead comment.

Q: I saw recently he’s been training out in Thailand. Have you ever been to Thailand?

A: Yeah, I didn’t have a go though. I was there for the WBC Convention in 2002, I believe. We left Phuket beach two weeks before the tsunami wiped it all out. So it wasn’t my time. It was a good, good convention that was, other than the fact that it was monsoon season. P*ssed it out for the whole two weeks.

Q: Do you follow the UFC – will you be watching Paddy to Baddy this weekend?

A: Yeah, looking forward to it. I think he’ll do the business. He’s serious about the game. I mean, I’ve seen a little documentary about him doing the weight and that. Who’s he fighting? Justin Gaethje. Tough fight that is. Tough fight. I think he’ll do the job, Paddy. But I’m watching that one. I’m tuning in. I’m glad you’ve reminded me, ’cause someone asked me about a couple of days ago, and I think he’ll do the business. He gets loads of shit. He always silences them. He always does a job, doesn’t he?

Q: If you were to organize two killer fights, who are you matching up?

A: I’d like to see it but I wouldn’t put Moses Itauma in with Usyk, but I think he could. I’m a massive Usyk fan. But I’d love to see a young, fresh, dynamic, powerful fighter like him against someone like Usyk, just to see. I think Usyk beats him now ’cause he hasn’t got the experience. But I’d like to see that fight. It gives Moses Itauma a chance to go in there and do the business.

Second one I’d probably like to see Conor Benn in with someone like Devin Haney. Because Conor Benn’s giving him some shit and he’s confident he could beat him. I don’t think he beats Devin Haney. I think Devin Haney’s got that experience and fast hands in that. I mean, you couldn’t write Conor Benn off, because he can bang a bit and he is always super fit when he gets in there. But I’d like to see that fight to see what actually happens. It is the fights that you don’t know who’s gonna win. I make Devin Haney a favorite, but not a massive, strong favorite. Same with Usyk against Itauma. Stuff like that really gets you excited. Unfortunately, we don’t get those kinds of fights in boxing. Because what if Conor Benn goes in there, destroys Haney, and Itauma goes in there and beats Usyk? They would be wild performances.
