Changes to CoinPoker’s Leaderboard Point System: What’s New?

Our cash game leaderboards are very popular and offer a great way to make some extra money while playing on CoinPoker.

We are always looking for new ways to make this more exciting and rewarding for our members.

This is why we have introduced some changes that we are sure will add some extra excitement when you play poker with us.

How Does Our Leaderboard Work?

Earn points as you play to climb up the rankings and if you get into a top 50 place at the end of the week, you’ll win some cash.

It’s as simple as this and we want to keep that simplicity while tweaking how it works.  

The positions on the MTT leaderboard are worked out based on the following details:

• buy-ins
• the total number of players taking part
• the final place taken by each player

In terms of the cash leaderboard, the points are awarded based on the number of big blinds that have been put towards Community Contributions.

In this way, you are rewarded for playing more often, rather than on the size of the stakes that you use.

It is worth noting that anyone who pays their Community Contributions in CHP gets an extra 50% in points towards their total on the leaderboard.

What Are the Prizes Up for Grabs?

150 players share a prize pool of 3,160 USDT between them thanks to our Galactic Grinders Leaderboard promotion.

There are three leaderboards to keep an eye on: one for MTTs, one for NLHE, and one for PLO cash table players.

A total of 2,300 USDT is paid out every week to the players who sit proudly at the top of the cash leaderboards.

This is split between 1,150 USDT for the PLO Cash leaderboard and 1,150 USDT for the NLHE Cash leaderboard.

The rest of the prize funds, adding up to 860 USDT, are split between those people who are leading the way on the MTT leaderboard. 

The top 50 players on each leaderboard pick up a share of the prize pools, so there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to grab a piece of the action.

The leaderboard starts up at 00:00 GMT every Monday and runs all through the week before coming to an end at 23:59 GMT on the Sunday.

Even if you miss out one week, you can go again the next week and see if you finish higher this time.

What Changes Now?

After carefully analyzing the gameplay and prize distribution, in addition to considering the feedback we have received from players, we are making some changes to the leaderboard point system for the cash game leaderboards.

This is something that we feel will make it fairer and more enjoyable for everyone who takes part.

The changes really just affect how the coefficients are worked out in the following way.

The current coefficients for the leaderboards are as follows: 

PLO/NL2	1 point each big blind collected in Community Contributions (CC)
PLO/NL5	1.5 points for each big blind
PLO/NL10	2 points for each big blind
PLO/NL25	2.5 points for each big blind
PLO/NL50+	3 points for each big blind

New Leaderboard System

From this Monday, June 14, the coefficients for earning leaderboard points will be as follows:

PLO/NL2	1 point for each big blind collected in Community Contributions (CC)
PLO/NL5	2 points for each big blind
PLO/NL10	3 points for each big blind
PLO/NL25	4 points for each big blind
PLO/NL50+	4.5 points for each big blind

What Difference Will These Changes Make?

We feel that lower limit players will still have an excellent opportunity to compete for the leaderboard top spots.

However, this change is needed to more fairly reward players who play higher stakes, giving them a higher chance of grabbing a share of the prize pools.

Another reason for this change is to encourage gameplay on later streets even in lower limit games, which is something that has been requested by our community.

We agree with this view and do not want the games to become automatic all-in or fold games simply to allow people to amass cheap leaderboard points.

Further changes may be brought in, depending upon the feedback we get and how we see the leaderboards evolving.

We will continue to monitor the situation to make sure that the leaderboards remain a positive influence on our games and reward players fairly.

What Do I Need to Do Now?

You can carry on enjoying your poker games with CoinPoker just as you have always done. By playing and participating, you will automatically earn points on our leaderboards, which adds to the excitement of playing on here.

Be sure to check on the current standings from time to time, to check how you are doing. There is no need to do anything extra to collect your points or to pick up any prize that you win.

If you get a share of the prize pool, it will be automatically credited to your account within a week of the leaderboard being finalized.
