What is RNG in Poker?
A Random Number Generator, or RNG, is the algorithm that runs card games and ensures statistical randomness. Think of RNG as the best poker dealer in the world, in digital form. Every time this digital dealer places community cards on the table or sends hole cards to players, they’re completely random.
True RNG allows everyone to play poker, knowing that each card is fully random and legitimate.
RNG is a core part of CoinPoker Game Integrity and vital to every hand played on our site.

Certified RNG vs Uncertified RNG
Poker sites that value fair play can clearly display RNG certification.
An RNG certificate is a seal of approval from a certified testing body that affirms online gaming platforms’ adherence to RNG standards. These standards ensure that cards and game outputs are statistically random and unpredictable. This is a testament to a trusted gaming ecosystem and ensures fair and honest gameplay.
Without certification, players are trusting that an operator is following industry best practices and safeguarding fairness.
How CoinPoker's RNG Works to Guarantee Fair Poker
CoinPoker uses an algorithm called the “Fisher-Yates shuffle.” It’s the same method used by legitimate casinos and is certified by mathematicians worldwide.
Every hand of poker is freshly shuffled, completely independent of previous shuffles.
Here’s how CoinPoker shuffling works:
1. Use a Fresh Deck
We start with a fresh deck of 52 cards, in their factory order (A♥, 2♥, 3♥, 4♥, and so on).
2. Pick the Last Card
We select the last card in the deck, starting with the K♣ at first.
3. Randomly Position
We randomly choose a position in the deck of cards, anywhere from position 1 to position 52.
4. Swap Cards
The last card in the deck is swapped with the card in a random position.
5. Repeat the Process
This process of swapping continues for the second-to-last card, third-to-last, and so on.
6. Continue
The process continues until every card has been randomly repositioned within the deck.
Why Is Our Shuffling Method Perfectly Fair?
Now that you know the shuffling process, it’s equally important to know why it guarantees fairness.
Equal Chance of Each Deck Arrangement
The true meaning of random is that each outcome has an equal opportunity of occurring.
With our shuffling method, each arrangement of the deck has an equal chance of occurring. No card or position is favored, and no outcome is more likely than another.
- Every player faces the same randomness.
- Shuffling happens before player actions.
- No system adjusts cards after the shuffle.
Impossible-to-Influence Deck Shuffling Process
Once our shuffling process begins, it is completely deterministic.
This means that the outcome is chosen by parameter values and initial conditions, and cannot be influenced later on. Once player actions begin, the deck order is already set.
- No code can tamper with outcomes.
- No system can influence cards.
- No algorithms change “bad beat” odds.
Extremely High Number of Deck Arrangements
There are over 80 duovigintillion unique arrangements that shuffling a deck of 52 cards can produce. A duovigintillion is a one followed by 66 zeroes.
With such a large number of potential shuffles, the cards at your table are extremely unlikely to ever fall into the same order twice.
There are no patterns or ways for players to gain advantages through the shuffle order.
Features Guaranteed NOT to Exist in Our Poker Games
Now that you know how our Random Number Generation system works, we’ll outline exactly what our platform doesn’t have.
❌ Game Outcome Manipulation
No code exists that can affect the cards in your hand, your opponents’ hands, or among the community cards.
This is true immediately after the shuffling process finishes and during the game of poker. No system or code can change what cards are coming (or not coming).
When you hit your draw on the river, or if your opponent hits theirs, it’s completely random.
❌ Player-Specific Algorithms
Our RNG does not differentiate players in any way. Whether you’re a long-time player or a fresh beginner playing their first hand, expect the same random outcomes in every game.
There’s no system in place to adjust dealing based on win-rate, rake accumulated, cashier balance, or VIP status.
Micro-stakes and high-stakes players are treated the same when it comes to shuffling.
❌ Backdoor Access & Admin Overrides
In the distant past, certain nefarious online poker rooms allowed backdoor access to games, destroying fairness.
CoinPoker does not, and never will, provide this access. No employee can manually change outcomes, and there is no “admin mode” to adjust card distribution.
On top of that, no staff member or administrator can see hole cards during games.
How You Can Verify Our Claims
We encourage and support anyone who wants to verify our poker RNG.
- Analyzing Hand Histories: Request your complete hand history and analyze card distributions
- Chi-Square Testing: Verify that card frequencies match expected probabilities
- Sequence Analysis: Confirm that card orders show no predictable patterns
- Outcome Analysis: Verify that results match mathematical expectations for poker

CoinPoker RNG Disclaimer
The Random Number Generator used by CoinPoker is the same RNG previously used by another leading poker brand, and previously certified by an international gaming accreditation agency. While this RNG is fully tested and has received certification in the past, we are in the process of having it re-certified and fully documented for the CoinPoker platform. This in no way means the integrity, randomness, or fairness of CoinPoker’s card shuffling algorithm is undermined or exploitable. This page will update to reflect the new certification soon.
