Week after week,\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0go over the history of the game, basic rules, and recommendations, anecdotes from the players, more advanced strategies, hand analysis, and etc.\u00a0Stay tuned and enjoy the Fantasy-ride!<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/the-importance-of-optimal-openings\/\">explained earlier<\/a>, we are now covering a crucial subject in OFC: your openings.\u00a0The\u00a0way you will choose to place your initial 5 cards will be the foundation of your hand and it represents\u00a0a\u00a0key\u00a0decision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that one of the ultimate goals in Chinese Poker is to reach Fantasyland, so starting with the most effective placement will greatly help you get there!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are studying&nbsp;optimum&nbsp;openings in order of the highest starting hands by ranking,&nbsp;and we already covered&nbsp;the top&nbsp;poker hands:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/royal-and-straight-flush-openings\/\">Royal Flushes<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/royal-and-straight-flush-openings-pt2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Straight Flushes<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-quads\/\">Quads\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-a-full-house-part-6\/\">Full Houses\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-flushes-part-6\/\">Flushes\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-straights-part-6\/\">Straights\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-three-of-a-kind\/\">Three of a kind\u00a0<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-two-pairs-part-2\/\">Two pairs<\/a>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here comes\u00a0the next category by ranking order of hands:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Opening With\u00a0One Pair<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you receive one pair in the opening along with 3 random cards (that are not 3 cards flush), the rule is clear and simple\u00a0with very few exceptions:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Any pair from 22 to KK will go in the back,\u00a0and AA will go in the middle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That is a very serious and important rule to know and to follow, as I often (if not always) see\u00a0beginners\u2019\u00a0players\u00a0automatically placing their QQ on top in opening,\u00a0without\u00a0proper\u00a0back up cards in the middle such as AA,\u00a0KK, or AK\u00a0to cover their Queens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all know that\u00a0the goal in OFC regular Pineapple is to access Fantasyland, but in the long run, placing your QQ on top in the opening without\u00a0appropriate\u00a0support will cost you a lot of money!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, remember that a back row involving cards such as KK or QQ will often evolve into a line that will be all of your opponents with such powerful cards.\u00a0So,\u00a0this is a time to be more reasonable\u00a0than\u00a0a gambler and to think about your\u00a0long-term\u00a0success in Open Face Chinese Poker.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Opening-With-One-Pair.jpg\" alt=\"Opening With One Pair\" class=\"wp-image-8241\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember\u00a0also, as <a href=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/opening-with-flushes-part-6\/\">we saw earlier<\/a>, that there are lots of exceptions when you will receive 3 cards flush in the opening with a big pair such as AA, KK, or QQ,\u00a0which is part of the flush. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In such a case, you will split your pair\u00a0in order\u00a0to place your 3 flush in the back, while placing the second A, K, or Q on top, and the remaining fifth card in the middle.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are few exceptions to the general rule&nbsp;for opening with one pair, and they&nbsp;will&nbsp;occur when you get dealt another fantasy card on top of a big pair.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Exception #1: When you get KK with a single Queen<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In such a case, your KK would go in the middle and not in the back, and your Queen would go on top. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You would place either one of the remaining\u00a0cards\u00a0in the back\u00a0and\u00a0the least interesting card in the middle\u00a0along\u00a0with your KK, or both of the remaining cards in the back if they are somehow connected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you received KK, A, Q, and a rag card,\u00a0you would place KK in the middle, Q on top, and A in the back. The rag card would go in the middle along with your KK unless it is suited with the Ace, then it would go in the back.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/No-Mercy-Exception-1.jpg\" alt=\"No Mercy Exception 1\" class=\"wp-image-8243\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Exception #<\/strong><strong>2<\/strong><strong>: When you get&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>QQ<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;with a<\/strong><strong>n<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>A<\/strong><strong>ce<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>AND<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;a<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;K<\/strong><strong>ing<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case and because you have so many ways out to make it to Fantasyland, you would place your QQ\u00a0on top along with the A and K in the middle, and the fifth card in the back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that if you were dealt only one Ace or one King along with your Queens, then you would go back to the general rule for this category and place your QQ in the back, your Ace or King on top, and the 2 remaining cards in the middle.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/coinpoker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/No-Mercy-Exception-2.jpg\" alt=\"No Mercy Exception 2\" class=\"wp-image-8245\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Be aware of the reasons why you make every&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>single&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>decision in OFC.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;That\u2019s how you will become a winning player<\/strong><strong>!<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rendezvous\u00a0next week\u00a0for the continuation of this series of tips on Open Face Chinese Poker\u00a0where we will see more about the placement of the remaining cards accompanying your dealt pair.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Meet me at the OFC tables on CoinPoker to practice your skills and enjoy the action.
