Hand #1<\/b><\/h2>\n

In a four-handed game, I limped with\u00a0\"\"\"\"\u00a0from the small blind. <\/span>VenturaBay<\/b> raised to 400 from the big blind and I called. <\/span><\/p>\n

I like to limp 100%<\/strong> of my small blind versus big blind range. With this hand it’s an easy limp call, or sometimes a limp raise, depending on my opponent\u2019s gameplay. <\/span><\/p>\n

The flop is \"\"\"\"\"\", which is a really good dry board.<\/span><\/p>\n

I usually like to check-call most hands in this situation, particularly when I hold an\u00a0\"\"\u00a0 in my hand or even a \"\"\u00a0high.<\/span><\/p>\n

I checked and VenturaBay<\/strong> bet 222. I called. <\/span><\/p>\n

The turn is\u00a0the\u00a0\"\", and here I know that if I check and my opponent checks back then I most likely have the best hand. I check and, luckily for me, <\/span>VenturaBay<\/b> checks back.<\/span><\/p>\n

We go to the river and it\u2019s the\u00a0\"\". <\/span><\/p>\n

My hand is strong enough here to check and win most of the time, meaning I don’t have to risk betting on the river and getting pushed out of the hand.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I like to play like this because it is more profitable in the long run. I always think a few steps ahead before making a decision, something that poker players should aim to do all the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hand #2 <\/b><\/h2>\n

In a four-handed game, <\/span>NenePoker<\/b> limped from the small blind. I checked from the big blind with\u00a0\"\"\"\".<\/span><\/p>\n

The flop is \"\"\"\"\"\", and NenePoker bets 300 into the 200 pot. It\u2019s an overbet, but I decided to raise here for the following reasons:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. For value<\/strong>, because it’s a limp pot and it’s hard to make a pair. In this case l have the top pair in a heads up situation plus a gutshot.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. By raising I get to keep my bluff range<\/strong> like all my straight draws and flush draws. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So I raised to 900 and <\/span>NenePoker<\/b> called.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The turn is the\u00a0\"\", and this is where things get interesting. <\/span>NenePoker<\/b> decides to donk bet the size of the pot, which is 2,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

    With this bet size, I don\u2019t think he is polarized, so I put him on draws, two pairs, or air.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    NenePoker<\/b> goes all in with almost half of the pot – 2,905 into 6,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

    I decided to call because the river didn’t complete the flush and, as I thought on the turn, I don’t believe he has a straight. I also don’t think he would donk bet all the way with nuts.<\/span><\/p>\n

    For less than half the pot it’s a definite call with two pairs.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    I called and he had \"\"\"\", a lower two-pair hand, and I collect the pot.<\/span><\/p>\n
